About Us

TIMSA

TIMSA began as a subsidiary of The Creative Cactus. The Creative Cactus was an online store specializing in greeting cards for families with an incarcerated loved one. We found ourselves doing a lot of advocacy work and education for many families and branched out to separate the two entities. The Creative Cactus has been retired for now due to us growing the educational side if TIMSA. Our mission has always been and will remain to provide compassion, education, advocacy and support.

EDUCATION

TIMSA prides ourselves on taking the time to educate families navigating their way through the TDCJ system. From webinars to educational courses we devote our time to teaching those willing to learn.

For the 2026 year, there will be many changes coming to our educational offerings. We have many programs in the development stages now that will be available through correspondence courses beginning in 2026.

The TIMSA team are actively creating real programs based off of the trials and tribulations of reintegrating into the community. This makes our programs more realistic and the content resonates with those taking the programs,

ADVOCACY

There is no cookie cutter way to advocate for your loved one. There are always alternate paths to the same destination. We listen to each person in need of help, provide one on one guidance and help you navigate the system and resources to the best of your ability. We help you find the confidence to be the voice for your loved one while supporting you along the way.

While we will take a deep dive into our educational offerings for 2026, we will always be deep rooted in teaching the family members of the incarcerated how to effectively be the voice for their loved ones.

SUPPORT

Support and advocacy go hand in hand. It is our belief that supporting the emotional needs of our member while teaching them to advocate for their loved one will enable them to build their confidence when speaking up for their loved one. We all have good and bad days and our community is there to celebrate the wins and embrace you and comfort you on the bad days.

FACEBOOK SUPPORT GROUP

TIMSA first started as a FB Support Group providing advocacy and support assistance to those within this community. Our FB community focuses on providing accurate information at all times to our member and providing a level of compassion and support that can guide you through the best and worst of times.

It does not just start and end there. The TIMSA FB group contains a wealth of information and resources under our Guides section. This is the BEST place to located the resources and answers you need for most situations. We also host FB Lives and Zoom sessions to touch base with our members, to provide a sounding board for difficult situations and to simply just be there for our members.

While we fully intend on having a lot of resources on our website for you, you would also benefit from becoming a member of our Facebook Group. The information in there is extensive and designed to help, support and guide you.
